Joe Biden Railroad

It's amazing how modern politics resembles scenes of Ayn Rand's best-seller Atlas Shrugged.

Like the one in which a high-ranking government official pumps millions of dollars into a failing railroad company.  The grateful railroad CEO rewards the government official by renovating his hometown train station and naming it after the government official. The renovation costs $5,700,000 more than expected.

Then comes the ribbon cutting ceremony.   The CEO gets on one of his trains to go to the ceremony, but it breaks down. No surprise there: One out of every four trains his company runs is late. The CEO, chuckling at the irony, abandons the train and takes a car to the ceremony.

Unfortunately, that wasn't a scene in Atlas Shrugged. It happened this weekend.

The government official is Joe Biden.

By the way,  the first of three Atlas Shrugged movies opens next month, appropriately on April 15th.

I pulled this off the teaparty.ning website. You got to read this:

WAKE UP AMERICA!
This is a Russian Publication Commentary on Obama's destruction of America
Published May 20th, 2009

American capitalism gone with a whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonald’s burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.
The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Sharon Tyler State Rep

We have a 90 minute segment with her on 9/7/10. I will be downloading this once I learn how to do so.

She brought me 100 yard signs for anyone that wants to put some out. She is not in my personal district, but I am willing to help her get reelected. The meeting went very well and we all were informed on some very childish things that go on in Lansing. We need more like her to put a stop to the "time out chair" and punishment from party leaders and the gov granholm.

So, if you are willing to help her by putting out yard signs, come get these. Call ahead 269-699-8116 so you know I'm home.

We've worked long and hard to be heard by our 'representatives' by staging protests, writing letters to the papers, and most recently to get our elected delegates to the GOP Convention. Now for the next step.

The GOP needs our assistance to get the message out of who we are supporting, why we are supporting them, and who these candidates are. In the past I've worked as a Cass County GOP volunteer so I could do exactly that.

I've been at the local GOP headquarters to give out information about their candidates, pass out the flyers of these candidates, and give to those looking for them lawn signs that I assisted in putting together of our preferred candidates. I've assisted in the Cass County 'Whistle Stop Tour' where we traversed the county to create some excitement for the upcoming elections, and to again pass out lawn signs. I've also worked as a Poll Watcher/Challenger at the polls on election day in an effort to make certain that no illegal votes were cast by people not properly documented/registered to vote here.

People ask me why I've worked so hard in the past for the GOP, and will continue to work again with them in the elections. My answer to them is ACORN, The Thugs [who now beat on Tea Party people], Illegal Aliens [now known as Undocumented Democrats],  and the Liberal Media.

My hope is that this year we will see more people really get involved. My desire is to have my fellow Tea Party Patriots show the local GOP that we WILL make a difference, that we will assist in making certain that our Michigan Supreme Court is not run by liberals, and that we can get more voters to the polls. My purpose in writing this is that I do not want to be alone AGAIN, as a volunteer, in creating actual change that we can all believe in, so I'm asking you to volunteer to do as much, or as little as you can. It really isn't all that much work, and if I can do so much then I'm certain that others can do their small, or large part.

Will you join me this year? If not you, then who?

Dear Patriots,

We went on another trip this past weekend to DC. No, there was not as many as last year, but still very well attended. I am not an expert, but I estimate 500-600,000.

The Saturday rally was very good, located on the grounds of the Washington Monument. Good speakers and several musicians we listen to over you tube and tea party emails were there to keep the crowd engaged. I recorded several hours of it on my new camcorder/camera. After I learn how to download and edit it, I will paste some to the site.

Sunday morning began with a good breakfast, and a bus ride to the Washington Monument again. The non-denominational Church Service saw around 50-100k on the grounds, but the sound system was not very good for many. From what I could hear, I enjoyed. At 11:30 AM, we began to March from the corner of Constitution and 15th toward the Capitol. The March was joined along the way with Patriots, and did not seem as long as it really was.

Once at the Capitol, Mary Martin, Wanda Ladd, and Sandy Pisani captured some good ground at about 120' from the stage. Wally, Danny, myself and others joined them for the duration of the Rally. Mike Pence signed some of our event shirts. The Gatlin Brothers did 3 sets of songs and one will long be remembered: all the gold in california, is in a bank in the middle of beverly hills in nancy pelosi's name!

Thank you for everyone that went. I hope that those that did not go were able to Stand UP at a rally closer to home on 9/12. For me, with regards to kicking the nincompoops running our goverenment out for good, is not an option. Standing Up United against this corrupt out of control social/communist bunch is too important.  Perhaps next year you will feel the same and save up to get to go back on that date.

Thanks again for allowing me to serve those that went. Pictures to come soon

Dr. Scott

What about this idea? Someone sent this to me and I loved it.

  __________________________________________________________

When driving to, from, and through Frankenmuth , Michigan , I'm always intrigued with the many small simple crosses in the front yards of the homes we pass by.

Those crosses are a statement of support for Frankenmuth's Christian foundation.

Two years ago an atheist living there complained about two crosses on a bridge in town. He requested that they be removed and the town removed them.

He then decided that, since he was so successful with that, the city shield should also be changed since it had on it, along with other symbols, a heart with a cross inside signifying the city's Lutheran beginnings.

At that point, the residents decided they had had enough. Hundreds of residents made their opinions known by placing small crosses in their front yards.

Seeing this quiet but powerful statement from the community, the man removed his complaint. Those simple crosses remain in those front yards today.

After passing those crosses for two years, it finally hit me that a small cross in millions of front yards across our country could provide a powerful and inspiring message for all Americans passing them every day.

I think it might be time to  take this idea across America . We have an administration that says "we are not a Christian nation" and everywhere you look the ACLU and others are trying to remove from our  history and current lives any reference to God, prayer, or the fact that our country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles.

Our administration can't bring themselves to talk about "radical Muslims or Islamic terrorists" for fear of offending them, but they can talk about Americans "clinging to their guns and their religion", or insinuate that our own military troops coming home from service overseas might turn into terrorists.

The majority of Americans are Christians, why are we letting this happen to us?

IT''S TIME TO STAND UP AND  MAKE A STATEMENT. A SMALL QUIET BUT POWERFUL STATEMENT.
IF YOU AGREE, PLACE A SMALL WHITE CROSS IN YOUR FRONT YARD OR GARDEN FOR ALL TO SEE THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE.

It would be a beautiful thing to see crosses all across America .

Please pass this along.

Encourage all you know to stand for America 's Judeo-Christian heritage and our religious freedom.

God Bless America !

This is from http://miprecinctdelegates.ning.com/. Can anyone corroborate this?

Patrick

Michigan GOP's Shell Game

The Michigan GOP has decided to expand the number of local precinct delegates in each county. While they are claim they are embracing the conservative grassroots movement, they are simply watering down the power of the county delegates. In my county, Livingston, they have added over 100 new delegate positions (to about 350).

Consider the following. The number of delegates elected to state has not increased. Thus, the 100 or so new delegates in my county will still be voting to fill the same number of county delegates. And, since the convention occurs a mere 9 days after the election, any new delegates will not know how the process works or who to vote for. I imagine the party stalwarts thinks they will be able to buffalo the newbies into voting for the "experienced" delegates--thus guaranteeing no change!

Join with me to surprise the party stalwarts. Let's organize NOW so that we can have a plan of action by the time our county conventions roll around. If we want to effect change in Lansing and Washington, we have to beat the parties at their own game. Let's organize, educate ourselves and plan. Please join the group for your district so we can coordinate at the local level.

Dear Fellow Patriots,

Re: 2010-APR-15 TEA Party - Video - Pink Slip
http://sharing.theflip.com/session/f789aba789e0f7fb74764f751601ddee/video/14797582

It's getting to be the last month of the real election campaign for the primary election season on August 3rd. I wanted to share this video from April 15th with you as a reminder of who I am and that I've been on the street with you over the past year at most every local event. In fact, I held the "Pink Slip" sign because I also attended the Pink Slip Rally in which we marched through downtown St. Joseph, and then served Fred Upton with pink slips at his office.

I believe I've shown the TEA Party and the community what I'm made of, that this election's about who you can trust: Principles, backbone, and the willingness to stand up and say "No More!" to the Leftists and professional politicians that want to micromanage your lives with their Big Brother "plans". You know I'll be taking taxes, regulation, and government power DOWN, supplanting what they've built with the power of the people as guaranteed by Article I, Section 1 of the Michigan Constitution. Watch for the Independence Caucus interview coming out soon to hear what legislation I'd like to sponsor. In the meantime...

I'd like to call on the TEA Party to indulge in a letter-to-the-editor writing campaign during this last month to help make a difference. Many people read it, and you know the Upton Machine will be mobilizing just like they did to ram-rod the School Bond Issue through and onto every landowner's tax bills (yet another tax increase).

As you know, Jack Hoogendyk, Todd Griffee and I have all put our names on each other's campaigns with mutual endorsements, calling ourselves Team Grassroots. If the grassroots movement can not muster the will to write in, putting their names on their letters in support of Team Grassroots, who will? We also need help getting out our literature, t-shirts, yardsigns, building a phone-bank team, and getting out the vote in your precincts on August 3rd.

The time is now, folks, and YOU are all we've got. It's time to show what you're made of regardless of what your neighbors, community, or the Upton Machine think. It's time to make a difference!

Thank you in advance for stepping up to the plate!

Respectfully,

Paul "Revere" Peterson

Republican Candidate

79th District State Rep

Member of TEA Party and Team Grassroots

Member of the MI FairTax Caucus, www.mifairtax.org

2010.06.30 03:49:02

Hello fellow patriots,

I'm Todd Griffee and I'm a republican candiadate for State Senate, District 21, which includes Berrien, Cass, and most of Van Buren counties.  I'm a member of the NRA, the American Legion, and the Southwest Michigan Tea Party Patriots.  I have been an Officer in the Army, a state trooper, a county deputy, and a small business owner.  I am currently running against John Proos, who has been the Representative for Dist. 79 for the past six years and was an aide to Congressman Upton before that.  Proos has been a moderate republican, but has been talking more conservative since I entered the race.  Proos is a smooth talking articulate career politician, who is a master at pulling the wool over people's eyes.  So far the race has been going extremely well with the senate debate we had last monday.  When your republican and democratic opponets are agreeing with eachother- then you know you are the only one on the conservative path.  Candidate for state rep- Paul Peterson and myself also hosted a shooting competition/fundraiser last Saturday.  It's one thing to fill out an NRA questionaire, but it's quite another to host an event representing the protection of Second Amendment rights.  But, i must bring to light some alarming smoke and mirror tactics used by Proos:

  • In the current political climate, he has portrayed himself as a conservative republican, when his voting record shows he is actually moderate. This is supported by the fact that his new flyer is focused on small business, the NRA, and veteran affiliations.  These are topics from my flyer that he he is copying to cloak himself as a conservative.
  • Proos states he is a member of the Coloma American Legion. He is in fact a Sons of American Legion because he is not a veteran.  His flyer misrepresents him as a veteran.
  • Proos has been endorsed by law enforcement to include the sheriffs and prosecutors of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.  I have served as a state trooper and Proos has not....sound odd?  the fact is that it's either the sheriif or the prosecutor in these counties who acts as Congressman Upton's campaign contact for that county.  i was never interviewed or sent a questionnaire, and left out of the process.  The only law enforcement questionnaire i saw was related to public act 312 which deals with mandatory arbitration, which I am uncomfortable with because I believe in "right to work".  So, who is Proos actually serving? The unions or Upton?
  • Proos has been endorsed by the Herald Palladium because he has a 35-page plan to micromanage small business in Michigan.  Proos also agreed with the democrat at the debate on this issue.  My point is that we do not need government central planning to run our lives.  My view is that we need to repeal the expensive, litigious, and slow licensing in Michigan. repeal the business surtax, and repeal the over regulation that plagues our state.  Michigan needs to be competitive. Michigan also needs to be "right to work".  Where i differ from my opponents is that it is not the government's job to initiate small bussiness.  It is the government's job to get out of the way with its central planning and let individuals initiate their own plans.  Doesn't anyone get the fact that this central planning stinks of being a progressive?  Obviously the H-P missed the point because i gave them a copy of Proos' voting record for the past year and a half with items i disagreed with. To add insult to injury, the H-P felt that Proos' six years as a representative better suited him for the job, than my being a bartender and carpenter. Have they missed the boat on what our elected officials should be -actual representatives of our community? What an elitist attitude to think that a career politician is so much more valued than any individual who works in a building trade or the restaurant industry! Our country was founded on representatives with "real life" experience, something that Mr. Proos lacks.
  • The other issue is the smoking ban, which I disagree with due to negative impact on personal liberties and small businesses. I have been endorsed by Protect Private Property in Michigan.  They are the ones who did the statewide ban on keno to protest the smoking ban.  Proos stated that it costs families $600.00 to deal with health care ramifications related to smoking.  Where do they get these statistics?  This is a ploy used by progressives to fear people into relinquishing their personal liberties. The people from Protect Private Property in Michigan alerted Mr. Proos to the fact that this was causing restaurants up to a 70% loss in revenue. His response was to "give it a year and see how it goes". The Protect Private Property people responded by stating that maybe Mr. Proos should take a 70% cut in pay for a year, and report to the public on how it goes.
  • Proos talks about the over spending of corrections and he is on the commitee.  Is it not obvious then that he is part of the problem?  He blames the democrats.  To paraphrase Mitt Romney-there is a difference between a career politician and a leader.  A politician points the finger and blames, and a leader gets the job done.  John Proos is a career politician. With my being an officer in the military, I have real life experience as a leader.
  • Proos has been in office for six years. If you are happy with how Michigan is being run, by all means vote for him again. Proos is part of the problem, not part of the solution. If you want common sense, conservative values, and a true representative of the people, then please vote for me on August 3rd.
  • There are tons of other little tricks that the country club candidates like to pull. For example, not being invited to events or being sent questionnaires. MIvotes never send a questionnaire, and when I called them about it, they questioned my being a real candidate. The Farm Bureau endorsed Paul Petersen, but not Jack Hoogendyk or myself, when our stand on relevant issues is very similar. I keep hearing talk of the Upton machine and how it chews up its opponents, and have even been told that I don't stand a chance against the "machine". It's my belief that the government should be fearful of the people, the people should not be fearful of the government. I need people to help me spread the word.  i need volunteers to hand out flyers and emails for me.  i would love to chat-please call me or email me.  I would be more than happy to meet face to face, or to speak at your business or event.  This race is not about me -it's about the people taking their government back and I'm just a volunteer.  Time is getting short-please help me defeat the Upton machine and his apprentices.
Thank you,
Todd Griffee
